BOCA RATON – The Burrow at FAU Arena was rocking last night (Feb. 23).

In what was a college basketball show to behold from start to finish, it was quite apparent that the Owls (25-3 overall; 16-0 at home) would run away from the Roadrunners (8-21 overall) with this one.

They would go on to celebrate their 106-66 home win in style.

With FAU’s 12-man roster, nine of them scored at least seven points in the penultimate home game of this season. The home team had seven players reach double figures in points scored.

Senior guard and Blanche Ely alum Michael Forrest led the way with 19 points, along with three assists and one rebound in 27 minutes.

Meanwhile, sophomore forward and Palm Beach Lakes alum Giancarlo Rosado added 14 points and one rebound in 17 minutes of action. He had a stretch early in the second half where he made four consecutive free throws for the Owls.

Here are the remaining contributors to FAU’s first 100-point game of the season:

•Sophomore center Vladislav Goldin – 14 points, 9 rebounds in 19 minutes

•Redshirt freshman guard Nicholas Boyd – 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists in 29 minutes

•Sophomore guard Alijah Martin – 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists in 17 minutes

•Redshirt freshman forward Tre Carroll – 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist in 11 minutes

With the amazing 40-point margin of victory, FAU is just one home win away from clinching the Conference USA regular season title. It can happen on Saturday (Feb. 25), when FAU hosts UTEP for Senior Day at 2 p.m.
