2026 March Madness: Where are the South Floridians?

The 2026 edition of March Madness is here!

As of the writing of this article, the First Four is underway to determine the participants in key tournament games. And in just a few short days, the march to the 2026 College Basketball National Championship will be in full gear.

In this year’s edition of the “madness,” there are plenty of players from South Florida. Some are superstars, some are role players, but all of them have a chance to play key roles in their teams’ quest for a magical March or one shining moment. Who are these players to know? Let’s dive into it!

  • Cayden Boozer- Duke
    • The brother of Cameron Boozer averaged 7.1 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. Had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal in Duke’s ACC Championship Gam win over Virginia.
  • Cameron Boozer- Duke
    • One of the best players in the country, Cameron Boozer is averaging 22.5 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game on over 50% shooting from the field. He is also averaging 4.2 assists per game and 1.5 steals per game.
  • Malik Reneau- Miami
    • A veteran presence for the Hurricanes, Reneau is averaging 18.8 points per game while shooting a career-best 35.3% from three-point range. The forward has also pulled down 217 rebounds and blocked 25 shots.
  • Dante Allen- Miami
    • Appearing in 28 games, the Miami native has averaged 6.4 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game. In the team’s ACC quarterfinal game against Louisville, he had seven points and four rebounds.
  • Jordyn Kee- Miami
    • A freshman guard from Broward County, Kee has only appeared in eight games this year. His only basket came against Bethune-Cookman, where he hit a three-pointer.
  • Marcus Allen- Miami
    • Transferring in from Missouri, Allen has not played this year due to a battle with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. You can support Allen’s family and battle against cancer here.
  • Chase Johnston- High Point
    • Playing for both Stetson and FGCU before the Panthers, Johnston has averaged 6.1 points per game and has shot over 48% from three-point range. In the Big South Championship Game, he hit all three of this three pointers and had 11 total points.
  • Kohl Rosario- Kansas
    • Rosario, a freshman for the Jayhawks, has scored 93 points this season and also has 36 rebounds. His career high of 16 points came in November against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
  • Markhi Strickland- NDSU
    • A key member of the Bison’s 2026 roster that is set to face Michigan State, Strickland is averaging 11.3 points per game on 59.8% shooting.
  • Faheim Meran- LIU
    • Playing sporadically for the Sharks in 2026, Meran had a season high of 11 points against Chicago State on January 4.
  • Kolby King- Utah State

    • A key veteran for Utah State in 2026, King is averaging 7.6 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game.
  • Alex Lloyd- Florida
    • A reserve for a very talented Gators basketball program, Lloyd had a season-high five points against South Carolina on January 28.
  • Cooper Josefsberg- Florida
    • Another reserve for the Gators, the guard had three points and two rebounds against Mississippi State on March 3.
  • Carl Cherenfant- McNeese
    • A Pompano Beach native, Cherenfant has helped the Cowboys in multiple ways this year. In total, the guard has 136 points, 100 rebounds, and 32 steals.
  • Dominick Nelson- Iowa State
    • Not playing much as of recently, Nelson had 12 points and a steal against Syracuse on November 26, 2025.
  • Ricky Liburd- Michigan
    • Liburd has not appeared in a game this season.
  • Charlie May- Michigan
    • The son of Michigan head coach Dusty May, Charlie May, has four points this season and one three-pointer made.
