While highly regarded 2026 QB Dia Bell is now at Texas, his brother’s recruitment is starting to heat up in a big way.

Tai Bell, a standout point guard who is the son of longtime NBA veteran Raja Bell, visited Houston this past weekend. He also visited the University of Texas and has an upcoming visit to Florida.

After his visit, Bell spoke very highly of the Cougars and their basketball program.

“I really enjoyed my visit. The coaches, staff, and players were all great! It was great to hear them talk about what their culture is and how they work. I loved everything that they preached.

Bell, asked about what he wants in a school, kept things very simple.

“I am looking for a place where I can compete for National Championships! I wanna win every time I step on the court. I also want a place that can develop me into the best player and person that I can be.”

Outside of Houston, Texas, and Florida, Bell mentioned Purdue, FSU, Syracuse, and Louisville as other schools that stand out to him. Bell also holds offers from FIU, FSU, USF, Kansas State, and more. Bell led the state of Florida in scoring this year at 33.5 per game and won a district championship for Mater Lakes Academy. He also averaged 5.1 assists per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Bell shot over 40% from three-point range and over 50% from the field overall.

Bell is ranked, according to the 24/7 Sports Composite Rankings, as the 4th-best point guard in the country and the 27th player in the country. Rivals has Bell ranked as the 22nd player overall in the 2028 class.

Between his personal production and family pedigree, it is clear that Bell will be one of the most sought-after players in the 2028 class. As a result, the recruitment process for the point guard should be one of the more fun ones going forward.
