DELRAY BEACH, FL – If you could name a team that’s been taking the 561 by storm in recent seasons you could probably see Atlantic High being in that conversation. After a disappointing 5-7 campaign in 2021, the Eagles turned it around last year in 2022 finishing 8-4, capturing a district championship, and, a statement win over Plantation in the opening round of State Playoff action. Ultimately the season would come to an end at the hands of national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. So far the Eagles have held on to their momentum after a shutout victory in the kickoff classic over Palm Beach Central and a big Week One win over Palm Beach Gardens.

Leading Atlantic this season are the running back duo of FSU commit Jayden Parrish and UMass commit Da’Marion Alberic. Atlantic’s rushing game has been a notable threat this season so far as Parrish scored all three offensive touchdowns for the Eagles against Gardens on Friday, while Alberic landed an impressive 113 yard performance and a touchdown in the Kickoff Classic a week prior. This lethal duo is going to be a problem for opposing defenses this season.

Looking at their schedule for the rest of the season here are some notable matchups that the Eagles will be playing in;

  • Week 2 – At Monarch (Coconut Creek)
  • Week 5 – At Cardinal Newman
  • Week 6 – Pahokee
  • Week 8 – Dwyer (District Matchup)
  • Week 10 – Santaluces

This program came into this fall with a lot of momentum and expectations on their shoulders. After sweeping the New Era Prep Spring awards, they used their momentum to gain more traction as they participated in the FAU 7v7 tournament over the summer break.

With how the season has started, the Eagles will look to continue their dominant path and come back to repeat as district champions.
