All of these – and more – describe what Ahmad Haston is as one of Palm Beach Central’s best-ever overall players.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback is a true dual threat, which means that he can take down the opposition with both his arm and his legs.
In nine games this season, Haston has thrown for 1,319 yards with 19 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also added 282 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
Haston’s all-purpose totals to date – all stats are provided by MaxPreps – tally at 1,601 yards and 29 touchdowns accounted for.
The best quarterback in Palm Beach County has been honored as our MVP of Week 1, MVP of Week 7, and MVP of Week 9. He is the only three-time MVP weekly winner in our area this season.
When the UMass verbal commit was recently crowned as our No. 1-ranked quarterback and No. 5 overall player in Palm Beach County, he made sure to shout out others in the process.

“All the hard work I put in since I started playing the game of football…times like this help you sit back and enjoy the work that you put in so far,” Haston said. “I’m thankful to be the No. 1 quarterback, but we have a lot of more work to do. We have a great 23 class in Palm Beach County. I hope all of these boys go off to college and go do great things. If they don’t go to play football, still I hope they be successful in life. I respect every single one of those guys, and I wish them nothing but the best.”
Haston has had some great moments this season, at the very least.
The 247Sports three-star quarterback recently shined in last week’s Wellington Cup and District 10-4M title game at home against Wellington. He had 228 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and one interception in his team’s 41-14 win.
“We knew this was going to be a big rivalry game”, Haston said. “Our coach told us there would be a lot of ups and downs during this game just because of the hype. We just had a find a way to keep fighting because we knew we were the better team coming out here. And eventually we pulled out the win.”
One thing that Haston prides himself on bonding with his receiving corps, who have helped him a great deal throughout this season to date. Haston’s receiving corps include the likes of Nedrick Boldin (2025), Britton Holmes (2024), Luby Maurice Jr. (2023), and Tony Williams (2025), and Javorian Wimberly (2023).
Haston spoke on Luby, who had a touchdown reception against Wellington.
“Luby is my deep threat,” Haston said. “Coach told me to take a shot, and I seen him going long. So I just threw it up and gave him a chance.”
Haston also spoke on Wimberly, who scored on both a touchdown reception and a two-point conversion in last week’s game.
“We called a flash play and some RPO,” Haston said. “He had a seam down the hash that he was going uncovered, watching the film under the tent. So I just knew to give him a chance, and he scored for me.”

“I hit 20 on a go route,” Haston said. “They were in Cover 2. And right when the DB came down on the bubble route, I knew I had the whole shot.”
As a team leader, it is important to show love to everyone who has helped made a team’s success possible.
Without the offensive line – led by the likes of Chris Cirillo (2023; No. 1-ranked offensive lineman in Palm Beach County) and Anthony Terry (2023; No. 3-ranked offensive lineman in Palm Beach County) – Haston’s success may not have been possible at Palm Beach Central.
“I love these boys,” Haston said. “They work very hard on and off the field. We’re great friends. I think that contributes to how we perform on the field because we have great chemistry. We go to lunch together with our o-line coach [Ryan] Blaszczyk every day. We just built that bond and come out here to perform. We do the best we can.”
Cirillo gave a shout out to Haston.
“Blessed to have Ahmad at quarterback,” Cirillo said. “You know when Ahmad slings it because you hear a zoom every time it goes by.”
Haston, who could be signing his letter of intent with UMass on Dec. 14, is laser-focused on Palm Beach Central’s ultimate mission right now. He wants second-ranked Palm Beach Central (8-1; District 10-4M champion) to finish the regular season on a high note, as his team will be hosting Carol City (Miami) (5-4) tonight (Nov. 3; 6:30 p.m.) for their Week 11 matchup.
After the Carol City game, it will be all about the Class 4M playoffs.
At this time, Palm Beach Central is rated as the state’s No. 38 overall team and the No. 1 seed in Class 4M-Region 3. A win tonight will ultimately secure the top seed, which will go a long way in helping Palm Beach Central’s goal of reaching its first state title game in school history and even possibly winning the 4M state title in December.
“I don’t care where you’re from or what you do,” Haston said. “Football is all about X’s and O’s. If you step on the field, you gotta come compete if you want to beat Palm Beach Central.”
