MIAMI – Dylan Redmon had a senior campaign to remember last year at St. Edward’s.
The do-it-all athlete, who is now at FIU, ended the 2022 season with the following statistics for the Pirates:
- 1,181 passing yards
- 268 rushing yards
- 219 receiving yards
- 10 passing touchdowns
- 2 rushing touchdowns
- 1 receiving touchdown
- 1,668 total offensive yards
- 25 total tackles
- 5 interceptions
- 2 interceptions returned for touchdowns

As a result of his amazing senior season, the 6-foot-2, 195 pound athlete earned the following honors:
•New Era Prep: No. 26-ranked overall player on the Treasure Coast
•New Era Prep: No. 3-ranked quarterback on the Treasure Coast
•TC Palm: All-Area Second Team
Redmon reflected on how his legendary senior season experience went at St. Edward’s.
“I love Saint Edwards and always will,” Redmon said. “I had multiple other opportunities to play elsewhere going into my senior year, but Saint Edwards has always felt like my home. Performance wise, I just go out on the field and have fun and just do what I do. Coach [Rich] Scho [Schofield] and Coach [Joseph] Antosh are great coaches and they equipped me to go out there and be successful. I would not be where I am today without them.”
Redmon’s best high school football from his senior year was against Tradition Prep in Week 8, which resulted in a 34-22 win. Here are his statistics from that one:
- 15-of-26 passing, 233 yards, 2 touchdowns
- 6 carries, 45 yards
- 1 reception, 61 yards
- 339 total offensive yards
- 2 tackles on defense
- 3 interceptions on defense
- 1 pass breakup on defense
- 1 forced fumble on defense
“I had a lot of fun that game and had many opportunities to make big plays,” Redmon said. “We ended up winning a close game in front of our home crowd.”
Redmon would go on to play four sports in his senior year at St. Edward’s, which also included basketball (helped lead Pirates to the District 13-2A title), lacrosse, and baseball.
After playing all four sports to wrap up his final high school year at St. Edward’s, Redmon went on to sign his letter of intent with FIU on May 15.

Redmon shared the reasoning behind his decision to go with FIU as his college football destination.
“I love the program here and the coaches have always been great,” Redmon said. “They really make the team feel like a family. And of course the Miami location. It doesn’t get better than the 305.”
Redmon will be playing the wide receiver position at FIU. He spoke on how he feels about it.
“I’ve played almost every position in football and I feel really comfortable playing receiver,” Redmon said. “Although I have a lot to learn, I still feel like I can be a great wideout and hold myself to a very high standard. At FIU there is great leadership and coaching, so there is no doubt in my mind that I will make an impact here and excel in my craft.”
Redmon spoke on FIU head coach Mike MacIntyre and FIU wide receivers coach Jay MacIntyre, the head coach’s son.
“I love Coach Macintyre,” Redmon said. “He’s been a great role model and coach since I’ve been here. Also, Coach Jay Macintyre is a great coach and person and he pushes us everyday and has the receiver room looking dangerous.”
To sum it all up, Redmon shared his goals for his upcoming freshman season at FIU.
“My goal for this season is to make an impact in any way possible and make my teammates better everyday,” Redmon said. “Our team goal is to go win a championship. Everyone in the program is bought in and we’re really excited about how the team is looking this year, so there’s no doubt we can go out and get a championship.”
