PALM BEACH GARDENS – Jacob Cosby-Mosley has been one of Palm Beach County’s best athletes for years.

The 6-foot-1, three-star athlete from The Benjamin School is the ultimate definition of a Swiss army knife.

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s finding Cosby-Mosley making plays on both sides of the ball every week. Wherever there is a position of need, Cosby-Mosley can fill it.

This was evident during the 2022 season, as Cosby-Mosley stepped out of his comfort zone by becoming the Buccaneers quarterback.

In 2022, Cosby-Mosley recorded:

•1,177 passing yards
•15 passing touchdowns
•165 rushing yards
•1 rushing touchdown
•3 receptions
•65 receiving yards
•38 total yards
•1 sack
•1 forced fumble

When asked about how his junior football season went, Cosby-Mosley said:

“I believe that I had a lot of improvement from my sophomore season.” he said. “I worked a lot on my mental and physical game, so I could be prepared for the big moments. I’m happy to come together with my teammates the way we did. We’re brothers no matter what, and there is nobody else I’d rather go to war with every week! It’s only bigger things from here, stay tuned!”

After his stellar season, Cosby-Mosley received First Team All-County honors by the Palm Beach Post. He was also rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Following his rating, Cosby-Mosley has received 16 verbal Division I offers, including (in order):

•South Florida
•Pitt
•Western Michigan
•Toledo
•Charlotte
•Wake Forest
•Appalachian State
•Bryant
•Western Kentucky
•Liberty
•Eastern Carolina
•Illinois
•Cincinatti
•James Madison
•FIU
•Tulane

Jacob has also received “serious interest” from Florida State and Florida.

When asked about how his recruiting process has gone so far, Cosby-Mosley said:

“I’m very happy with how my recruiting process has went so far!” he said. “It’s my time to shine, I’ve put in the work behind the scenes for years now. I’m thankful for my support group, my family, you all have pushed me every day to strive for perfection. God has always blessed me, and I know and I trust that He will continue to bless me.”

This spring, Cosby-Mosely was a member of the 2023 Benjamin state champion boys track and field team. While at the State Championships, Jacob put his athleticism on display, competing in the 110m Hurdles, Triple Jump, and the 4 x 100m Relay.

When asked about his junior season running track, Cosby-Mosley said:

“This track season was one to remember!” he said. “Obviously winning State Championship is an amazing feat, but I believe that the memories I created with my teammates along the way were far greater! I’m very excited to bring home another State Championship next season!”

As the 2023-24 football season draws closer, we can expect big things from Cosby-Mosley and the Benjamin Buccaneers.

When asked about his goals for the upcoming season, Cosby-Mosley said:

“Individually, I would like to continue to grow as a player and as a leader. Our team goal is to go undefeated en route to a State Championship.” he said “The Track State Championship only gave us more motivation that this is possible! We’re trying to bring another ring back to TBS!”

I’ve had the privilege of covering Cosby-Mosley throughout his entire high school career. He is the ultimate competitor, always finding ways to help his team win.

While he is an amazing football player, Cosby-Mosley is an even better teammate.

Every time I’ve covered him, Cosby-Mosley has been a vocal leader. He is always leading his team throughout warmups, on the field and in the weight room. He even lifts his less experienced teammates up, helping them refine their skills to become better.

I’m truly excited to continue to follow Cosby-Mosley throughout his senior season.
