MIAMI GARDENS – It was quite possibly the grandest media stage for South Florida’s high school football players on Saturday, Aug. 3.

A little more than 100 high school football teams from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties converged at Hard Rock Stadium and enjoyed the Miami Dolphins High School Media Day festivities.

Players and coaches had a three-minute spotlight session at a podium, which was set up similar to how NFL press conferences are assembled. They were all made particularly special in that grand moment.

One standout happening took place when Boca Raton head coach Brandon Walker made a startling announcement to media members. He revealed that prized senior quarterback and Tulane commit Michael Pratt (No. 8 overall player in Palm Beach County at the time) would not be suiting up for the Bobcats this upcoming season.

It turns out that Pratt decided to transfer from Boca Raton to Deerfield Beach. He announced his decision via his Twitter page on Wednesday night (Aug. 7).

In all honesty, when it comes to Palm Beach County’s footprint in South Florida, it’s always going to be about the best overall players and best overall teams.
