PALM BEACH GARDENS – It took only six full games on the field for us to see what Lynden Moss could do as a quarterback.

Taking over in Week 6 this past season against Jupiter, the 6-foot-2, 207-pound signal caller had a game to remember. In what turned out to be a 34-0 road win, Moss had an outstanding debut with 322 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.

“I remember [lineman] Tim [Brown], [wide receiver] Ralph [Vasquez], and some of the other older players telling me to just play how I play and let the game come to me,” Moss said.

The next game was the 2021 quarterback’s best of the season, when he torched Park Vista for 274 passing yards, 3 touchdowns in the air, and 1 more score on the ground. Moss accounted for 4 touchdowns to lead Palm Beach Gardens to a 35-3 win in Week 7.

When the season ended in a 53-9 playoff loss to Deerfield Beach in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs, Moss tallied 1,500 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions, while adding 90 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

“My junior season went really good, even though I wasn’t starting the first few games,” Moss said. “It really matured me and made me work harder. And for me, it showed me how important having a strong bond as a team is.”

The offseason for Moss has been a relatively quiet one. But on June 10, his college recruiting process began to open up with an offer to Keiser.

“I was excited, said Moss, who is currently our No. 3-ranked quarterback in Palm Beach County. “I’m happy that my hard work is beginning to pay off.”

For his upcoming senior season, Moss would like to have at least 3,500 passing yards and 30 touchdowns, with 350 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. And obviously, he would like for his team to win at least one 8A playoff game.
