CORAL GABLES – Miami continues to prove itself as one of the nation’s top tier teams this season.
For the second straight week, the Hurricanes (2-1) are ranked No. 21 in the Associated Press national poll. They have won two straight by outscoring their opponents (Savannah State in Week 2; Toledo in Week 3) by a combined score of 126-24.
Miami’s Week 2 win over Savannah State was by a school-record 77-0 final score, while it’s Week 3 win over Toledo resulted in a 49-24 score.
Miami is ranked in the AP Top 25 for the 21st consecutive week, which is good for the 10th longest streak in the nation and tied for fifth-longest streak in school history.
Miami, which is also ranked at No. 20 for the second straight week in the Amway Coaches Poll, will play in-state opponent FIU (2-1) at home on Saturday, Sept. 22. The Week 4 game between both Miami-area FBS teams will be televised on ESPN2, with a kickoff time set for 3:30 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium.
