DEERFIELD BEACH – Former Boca Raton senior QB Michael Pratt announced his transfer to Deerfield Beach on Wednesday night (Aug. 7).

Playing as the starting quarterback for Boca Raton last season, Pratt helped lead the Bobcats to a 5-5 record, including a win over Doral Academy (nine-game winner) in Week 1. With Pratt under center, Boca Raton finished fourth overall in District 10-8A.

Pratt ended the season as the Bobcats leader in both passing (1,203 yards) and rushing (447 yards). He scored 15 total touchdowns for his former team.

Finishing his junior season ranked as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, Pratt has earned offers to 15 different colleges, including Tulane, FAU, Toledo, and Ivy League schools such as Harvard and Cornell.

Pratt verbally pledged his commitment to Tulane in June.

At Deerfield Beach, Pratt will have some of the best weapons in the state to throw to. The Bucks top three receivers are Xavier Restrepo (Miami commit), four-star prospect Bryce Gowdy (Georgia Tech commit), and former Park Vista standout Aydin Henningham (Pittsburgh commit).

In the backfield, running back Jaylen Knighton (Florida State commit) returns for yet another season as a senior.

Pratt and Deerfield Beach will open up the season against Carol City (Miami) on ESPNU. The Bucks will also host Pratt’s former team, Boca Raton, in a District 12-8A game on Friday, Sept. 27 (7 p.m. kickoff).
