Boca Raton, FL – It was a bright and sunny South Florida evening at Boca Raton High School as the Bobcats took on the Kings Academy Lions. There were plenty of drills in the first half, starting off with red-zone plays and then moving to 7 on 7. The second half consisted of two live quarters where players were allowed to dish it out on the field like a regular game. The game was highlighted by Boca Raton’s offense and the camaraderie from both teams.

To start off the day, Kings opened up the game on offense doing redzone drills, starting at the 20 yard line. 2025 Running back Aydan Ranzie ran it in for a 1 yard touchdown. They then restarted from the 20 yard line, this time Michael Mesa running it in for the touchdown from the 5. It was a very run heavy few drives for the Lions. Boca then got a crack at it, scoring a touchdown as well.

After the redzone drills, they broke up the skills players and the lineman, having a 7 on 7 matchup on one side of the field and a lineman matchup on the other end of the field. The lineman drills were back and forth, both sides wanting to prove they have the stronger line. It got intense at times, with some extra pushes being dished out. The skills on the other side of the field were also having highlights, one being a long pass to 2025 WR Jordan Davis for a TD for Boca. After all of this the players were hungry for game action.

Kings Academy struggled on offense most of the game, the Bobcat defense proving they were too strong for the Lions. Boca Raton, led by a new QB and WR Jordan Davis put the first points up on the board after a 20 yard end zone catch. Then WR Jadon Blakeslee caught a 10 yard catch to extend the score to 14-0. It looked as though Kings was still in offseason mode up to this point.

To start the second quarter, which was the last quarter, Boca threw yet again another touchdown to Jordan Davis, this time a 13 yard catch to put the lead at 21-0. Kings academy was able to keep it from being a goose egg by putting points up with less than 4 minutes left. QB Corbyn Aleshire threw it to WR Javien Jones who shoved off a defender and leaped into the corner of the end zone for a 9 yard touchdown.

Though in the heat of the moment there was some chirping going on, at the end both Kings and Boca players met at the 50 and had a group prayer. This shows how the camaraderie was between these two teams and that at the end of the day both of them want to put their best effort out there. They now prepare for summer workouts and look forward to the 2024-25 season.
