The Miami Hurricanes delivered a complete performance Saturday night, overpowering Bethune-Cookman in every phase of the game on their way to a decisive win at Hard Rock Stadium. From start to finish, the Hurricanes imposed their will, piling up more than 500 yards of total offense while the defense suffocated the Wildcats and allowed fewer than 200.
Quarterback Carson Beck was flawless. The Georgia transfer completed all 15 of his passes, finishing with a perfect 15 for 15 line that set a new program record for single-game completion percentage. Beck showed poise and command of the offense, spreading the ball to multiple playmakers and keeping the Wildcats’ defense on its heels throughout the night. “It was super cool, those guys are out there making plays, the oline giving all the time in the world and when you have CJ going up there and grabbing balls out there like that.” Beck added on his historic night.

Beck’s precision was complemented by a powerful running attack. Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. led the ground game with 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns, adding another score through the air for a three-touchdown performance. Wide receivers also made their mark as CJ Daniels hauled in 73 yards and two touchdowns, while Malachi Toney added 80 receiving yards, keeping the offense dynamic and balanced.

In total, Miami rolled up 543 yards of offense, including 199 on the ground and 344 through the air. The Hurricanes averaged more than eight yards per play and found the end zone six times, converting drives with ruthless efficiency.
While the offense was lighting up the scoreboard, Miami’s defense made sure Bethune-Cookman had no chance of keeping pace. The Wildcats managed only 191 total yards, including just 92 on the ground. The Hurricanes’ defensive front controlled the line of scrimmage, registering four sacks and 10 tackles for loss.

Linebacker K. Wiley Jr. led the unit with five tackles, while Marcellius Toure and freshman Marquise Lightfoot each chipped in with four. Defensive linemen Rueben Bain Jr. and L. Taylor consistently disrupted plays in the backfield, setting the tone early and never letting up.

For head coach Mario Cristobal, the performance was everything he could have asked for to open the season “The focus on us getting better, focus on routine playa and you will see highlight plays.”Cristobal stated on his team play tonight.
Cristobal and his Team will face the USF for week 3. This should be an interesting match-up after seeing USF compete and win match-ups against Boise Stare and Florida
