Mother Nature did her thing today, as all afternoon Palm Beach County, alongside the greater South Florida area, experienced rain showers of stupendous proportions. Honestly, about an hour and a half before most contests kicked off at 6:30 PM, I questioned if we’d even get a single snap of football in.
Nonetheless, despite the torrential down that left any grass field a swampy marsh that rivaled the Everglades, football was to be played tonight. I brought my services just across the street from my humble abode, to watch the FHSAA 7A District 12 Matchup between the Palm Beach Lakes Rams and the Palm Beach Central Broncos.
From the opening snap to the final whistle- it was all Broncos tonight. PBC knew just how big of a factor the elements would become and established the run early. Senior RB Drew Ulysse had himself a career night, recording 122 yards and 2 scores on the night.
Make it two touchdowns tonight for Drew Ulysse as PBC goes up 31-0 moments before halftime

The Central offense’s elite playmaking ability was evident tonight, as QB Chance Routson was making plays with both his arms and legs. Routson broke off two 25+ yard runs, one of which coming as a 29 yard score. Chance would toss a lone touchdown on the day, going to Tyler Overstreet to ignite the impending scoring frenzy.
Flipping things over defensively, Palm Beach Central’s front seven was stifling, led by their three headed monster LB room. PBC’s linebackers, Antoine Sharp, Cameron Dwyer and David Harmon all had elite performances vs the Rams, as Dwyer and Harmon had a pick alongside numerous tackles. As for Sharp, he recorded 8 tackles, 2 TFL alongside being named PBC’s 2025 Homecoming King.
Palm Beach Central now looks ahead to their biggest test of the regular season, as the Broncos prepare to travel to Vanguard next week.
