Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles certainly lived up to his name at the NFL combine yesterday.
On a day where 313 pound Demonte Capehart clocked an unofficial 4.85 40-yard dash, Styles still managed to turn heads with his record breaking performance in almost every aspect of the combine.
Some context for Sonny Styles’ insane 43.5-inch vert:
— Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) February 26, 2026
– Highest jump of any linebacker at the Combine since 1999
– Tied for 15th highest jump since 1999 of any position
– Only player since 1999 to jump over 43 inches weighing over 240 lbs.
Styles compiled an “elite” rating according to RAS, Relative Athletic Score, scoring a 9.95/10 in his height, an 8.54 on his weight, a 9.96 on his broad jump and a perfect 10 on his vertical leap.

RAS later reported that out of 3215 linebackers ever measured from 1987-2026, Styles ranked first overall with his performance yesterday.
Sonny Styles is a LB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored an unofficial 10.00 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1 out of 3215 LB from 1987 to 2026.

The League-bound defensive star ended his career with the Buckeyes with 245 career tackles and just under 10 sacks.
The former Buckeye is a favorite to be drafted by the Washington Commanders at No. 7 overall, but there has been rumblings that he may fall as far as pick No. 15, heading to Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers.
While he didn’t have a star studded season, he certainly performed well enough at the Combine to point all the cameras in his direction.
The 2026 NFL draft takes place on April 23rd in Pittsburgh, with Round 1 beginning at 8 P.M. ET.
