Under the bright Thursday night lights, the matchup between Park Vista Cobras and Seminole Ridge Hawks quickly turned into a statement performance for Park Vista. The Cobras dominated from start to finish in a convincing 21-0 shutout victory, flashing explosive offense, physical defense, and the kind of chemistry that could make them a dangerous team heading into next season.

One of the biggest storylines surrounding the program is the evolving quarterback room. With highly anticipated transfer Erik Lee expected to step in as the team’s QB1, current signal caller Mikey Hecker entered Thursday night knowing he still had a major opportunity to prove himself. Lee, who transferred from Lake Worth Trojans, was unable to suit up due to transfer eligibility rules, forcing him to watch from the sidelines. Even so, his presence around the program has already created excitement, especially with his father, Erik Lee Sr., joining the Cobras’ coaching staff as offensive coordinator after also arriving from Lake Worth.

Despite the attention surrounding the incoming transfer, Hecker showed exactly why Park Vista is in a strong position offensively. The quarterback played with confidence and control throughout the night, making smart decisions and delivering several impressive throws. His biggest moment came on a perfectly timed deep ball to wide receiver Justice Jones, a rising senior, who raced past the defense for a 65-yard touchdown reception. The play instantly energized the crowd and demonstrated the explosive ability Park Vista possesses at the skill positions.

Another key spark in the passing game came from receiver Brody Wilson, who delivered an electric 55-yard catch that shifted momentum and showcased his ability to turn short space into big gains. After securing the ball, Wilson added extra effort with strong yards after catch (YAC), breaking tackles and pushing the play well downfield. His physicality and acceleration added another layer to Park Vista’s offensive explosiveness.

Rather than looking like a backup quarterback, Hecker looked composed and prepared for the spotlight. He managed the offense efficiently, moved the ball consistently, and showed strong chemistry with his receivers. For Park Vista, that could become an important advantage moving forward. Even with Lee expected to lead the offense once eligible, Thursday’s performance proved the Cobras have depth at the position and healthy competition that can push both quarterbacks to improve.

The Cobras also leaned heavily on their rushing attack to control the game. Running back Elisha Gamble, also a rising senior, powered his way into the end zone for a rushing touchdown, capping off a physical drive that wore down the Seminole Ridge defense. Park Vista’s defense contributed directly to the scoring as well, with Major Dukes finding the end zone after recovering a fumble. The defensive touchdown added even more momentum for the Cobras and highlighted the aggressive, opportunistic mentality they played with all night long.

Defensively, Park Vista looked dominant from the opening snap. Defensive end Harris Bender, another rising senior, consistently disrupted plays in the backfield, while fellow rising senior Nick Battaglia joined him on one of the game’s biggest moments — a powerful combined sack that halted a Seminole Ridge drive and fired up the entire sideline. The Cobras’ defensive front controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the contest, giving the Hawks very little room to operate offensively.

The defense continued making plays late into the game, highlighted by a forced fumble from Myron Tracey Jr. that effectively shut down any hopes of a Seminole Ridge comeback. Tracey’s aggressive play embodied the intensity Park Vista carried all night long, as the Cobras swarmed to the football and refused to allow Seminole Ridge any momentum.

By the end of the evening, Park Vista had not only secured a 21-0 victory, but also sent a message about the direction of the program. The momentum only grew even stronger off the field in the days surrounding the game. Rising senior Justice Jones reportedly received an offer from the University of Akron the following day, a major step in his recruiting journey. Even more, both Jones and fellow rising senior Elisha Gamble earned offers from Lenoir–Rhyne University (a Division II football program) on the same day prior to the game, highlighting the growing attention Park Vista’s playmakers are starting to attract.

With key rising seniors like Justice Jones, Elisha Gamble, Harris Bender, and Nick Battaglia leading the way, the Cobras appear to have a strong foundation entering next season. Combined with the additions of Erik Lee and offensive coordinator Erik Lee Sr. from Lake Worth, Park Vista looks like a program building serious momentum. Thursday night showed that the Cobras are not just relying on future potential — the pieces are already beginning to come together, and the future looks bright for Park Vista football.
