Miami will open its Players Era Tournament run against the Horned Frogs, with the winner set for a second-round matchup against Michigan OR Creighton

The Miami Hurricanes are set with their first opponent for the 2026 Players Era 16 Tournament in Las Vegas, as they will open with a first-round matchup against the TCU Horned Frogs on November 24th from T-Mobile Arena.

Miami will enter the tournament coming off a strong 2025-26 campaign under Jai Lucas where the Hurricanes had the biggest one season turnaround in the country finishing 26-9, reaching the ACC Tournament semifinals and taking a game in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Purdue in the second round.

On the other hand, Miami’s opponent in TCU also made the NCAA Tournament last season after finishing 23-12 overall under 10th year veteran head coach Jamie Dixon. The Horned Frogs reached the second round of the tournament after beating Ohio State in the Round of 64 but would have their season ended by the Duke Blue Devils.

With the game announcement, Miami now has two non-conference games scheduled, with both games coming as neutral sites against TCU (Las Vegas) and the Florida Gators (Tampa Bay). More game unveilings should be expected soon with the yearly ACC/SEC Challenge yet to be announced.

The early matchup gives Miami an opportunity to test themselves against another top Power Conference opponent as Jai Lucas continues to build his Hurricane program entering year two of his tenure. The Canes have been aggressive all offseason in both recruiting and the transfer portal and look to carry momentum from last season’s ending in the NCAA Tournament.

With an early statement over TCU, Miami would advance with an opportunity to face the winner of the matchup between the Creighton Bluejays and the defending national champions Michigan Wolverines on November 26th.
