A New Era: Benjamin Nails First Win in the Belser Era

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. – On Friday night, the Benjamin Buccaneers opened their season with a 27-7 victory over the visiting Dwyer Panthers in the battle on Central Blvd. Their first victory in the Jason Belser era at The Benjamin School.

The game opened up with a few back and forth scrappy drives between both teams, the gates finally opened as Charlie Smith found Kaden Faniel with a very deep ball to put Benjamin out front 7-0.

Immediately after, a bad snap from the Dwyer offense lead to a fumble recovery in the endzone to put Benjamin up 14-0.

It didn’t stop there however, in the second quarter Terrion Ivy-Atkins found a gap for a rushing touchdown to get the Buccaneers out front 21-0.

Shortly after, Nick Skillin found himself in the endzone for a touchdown, capping off an impressive performance from the Benjamin running back room.

It took Dwyer almost the entire game but they came away with a touchdown of their own as Robert Green found Leon Lewis in the back of the endzone for a Panthers touchdown.

Next up, the Buccaneers (1-0) will face the Jupiter Christian Eagles on Friday, August 22. The Eagles also sit at 1-0 after defeating NSU University 42-28.

Meanwhile, the Panthers (0-1) will look to rebound when they take on the Jupiter Warriors, who will be making their season debut.
