West Boca Raton, FL.- It’s official! West Boca has secured a 10-0 undefeated regular season for the first time in program history!
Tonight (November 7) the 9-0 West Boca Bulls hosted the 7-2 Royal Palm Beach Wildcats in the regular season finale. Tonight’s matchup was the concluding game of both squads’ district play.
West Boca entered the game with a playoff bid secured, and Royal Palm entered with the intention of increasing their odds for post season play.
Throughout tonight’s game, the Bulls saw red and were stampeding across the field. In the opening moments of the game, West Boca’s offense quickly entered the redzone, when Mason Mallory found Mark Hanniford for a 2 yard score.
On the following drive, the Bulls’ defense came away with points as star DB Damon Allen caught a crucial interception at around mid field and returned it for a pick six.
Royal Palm’s special teams unit retaliated on the following kickoff as Demetrice Rolle broke off a big return for a 98 yard kick return touchdown. The Kick return chaos continued right after as West Boca struck back for a 94 yard kick return touchdown from Kyle Andrews.
The festivities continued as West Boca recovers a fumble inside the 25, and Trey Moran finds Zach Walls for another Bulls score. Moran then follows up another Damon Allen interception by hitting Kyle Andrews for 6.
As the first half wound down, Jayden Lockhart further extended the West Boca lead with a 2 yard scoring rush.
At halftime, West Boca led 41-7.
As the second half ticked by, nothing crazy happened, as West Boca secured a 48-7 victory over Royal Palm. Tonight’s win etched the first district championship in the Dylan Potts era of West Boca football, and solidified their standing as the #1 seed in 6A Region 3 ahead of tomorrow night’s FHSAA playoff selection.
