Two remain. As we enter state semifinals week, the 561 has two teams that will play to advance to the state championship. West Boca will host Southridge, while Cardinal Newman will host Clearwater Central Catholic.

West Boca comes in 13–0 averaging 35 points per game and allowing just 8, while pitching four shutouts. Their explosive offense is headlined by 3-Star WR Mark Hanniford, and 4-Star RB Javian Mallory. The Bulls have many other key players including Mason Mallery and Trey Moran, who run their dual-qb system.

The tough West Boca defense is led by star DT Xavier Reid as well as DB duo Damon Allen and Jaydin Broadnax. They’ve allowed 14 total points throughout these playoffs, coming off of a shutout win last week vs Wiregrass Ranch.

Southridge is led by QB James Perrone, who sits at #11 in the state in passing, with over 2700 yards. Perrone will have to connect with his top receivers Darius Clements and Jhakari Johnson to give the Bulls defense trouble.

Both teams have high-powered offenses and solid defenses, will West Boca stay undefeated or will Southridge advance to the state finals?

Cardinal Newman comes into the Thursday night game at 10-1 with three solid playoff wins under their belt. The Crusaders are led by their consistent offense with QB Jyron Hughley, RB Jaylin Brown, and Max Redmond, and Leslie Mosley.

Last week, the Crusaders beat First Baptist 27-9 and advanced after losing the regional finals each of the previous three seasons.

Clearwater Central Catholic comes into this one 10-2 with losses coming to Venice and St. Frances Academy, nationally ranked, #19, and #8, respectively. Will their battle tested team be able to give a hot Cardinal Newman team trouble, or will the Crusaders continue a historical season.
