DELRAY BEACH – Atlantic has a few key players back in their lineup after they came off their injuries.
The collective wants to send a message to every district opponent they face after posting a 77-64 win tonight over Santaluces.
Atlantic would jump all over Santaluces in the first quarter as both teams ran the court. Eagles guard Rodwens Albert would show off his range early as he knocked down two three-pointers which contributed to Atlantic’s 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Halfway through the second quarter, the Chiefs would take a timeout as the Eagles began to roll with a 25-9 lead at the 4:50 mark.
Issac Harmon would come into the game with a little over two minutes left in the second quarter. The crowd cheered loud in celebration as the Atlantic guard has missed a good portion of the season due to injury.
Atlantic would go into halftime with a commanding 34-19 lead.
The Eagles would come out in the second half firing as the Chiefs tried to dig themselves out a 21-point deficit late in the third quarter.
Santaluces would fiercely surge back halfway through the fourth quarter as they went on a 12-0 run and close the deficit down to 62-51.
The Eagles would cruise for much of the second half as the Chiefs could not get much going after their run.
Santaluces was simply outmatched this time around and shorthanded as senior center Marcus Bentley was sidelined with an injury.
