Atlantic outlasts Spanish River in 75-63 comeback win

BOCA RATON – The Atlantic Eagles would come out firing in the first quarter and seemingly knocked down every shot they threw up.

The Spanish River Sharks would keep pace but be down 22-14 at the end of the first.

The second quarter would get interesting as Spanish River opened up its offensive attack by knocking down a flurry of three-pointers. The Eagles offense would struggle to ward off the Sharks in the second as both teams went into halftime tied at 37-37.

Spanish River’s harassing defense would give it the momentum going into the locker room at halftime.

The Sharks would take the lead coming out of halftime as they went on a quick 6-2 run. Jeremy Hock would knock down two three-pointers in the third for the Sharks that would get the crowd into the game.

The Eagles seemed to be pressured the entire third quarter to make something happen, as they were down 58-53 at the end of the third.

Atlantic would take over halfway through the fourth quarter as it went on a blistering 18-0 run. Spanish River’s head coach would call a timeout to call his team down with 3:52 left in the fourth.

A huge dunk in the fourth quarter by Atlantic center RJ Duhart would be the final dagger as the Eagles downed the Sharks, 75-63.
