On December 18th the Keiser University, Seahawks will travel to Durham, North Carolina for the NAIA national championship game.
With a respectable 11-2 record, the most wins in school history, the Seahawks will have a rematch of last year’s national championship versus the undefeated and reigning champs, Northwestern(Iowa).
The Seahawks came up short last year, this season they are looking to secure their first title.
The Seahawks have become back to back Sun Conference champions and have won all of their conference games this year.
Unlike last year, this season Northwestern comes into Durham undefeated, and are looking to cap off their perfect season as repeat champions.
In this matchup two things to watch are, the defenses, along with the rushing attacks.
In Keiser’s semifinal game, the defense came up big when they were needed with multiple fourth down stops.
On the other hand, Northwestern only allowed 10 points on the board, as they cruised to victory last week.
Both teams were also stout on the ground last week as they each rushed for over 170 yards.
It will be interesting to see how Keiser’s defense will keep an efficient Northwestern offense off of the field.
Last week the raiders third down efficiency was at 92% converting 12 of the 13 downs.
Both offenses also have dynamic players in Keiser’s receiver Jaden Meizinger. Along with Northwestern’s bell cow running back Konner McQuillan.
This game will be a great one to keep an eye on as both teams are familiar with each other and have been in the same exact position last year.
