JUPITER – There is no other way to put it.

In the District 11-7A title game last night (May 7), No. 1 seed Jupiter (15-7) made short work of No. 3 seed Palm Beach Central (13-13) for its 11-3 home win.

Here is how the Warriors secured the District 11-7 title.

Down 3-1 in the bottom of the second, the home team went on to score six runs, which really made the difference here. With that, it was 7-3 in favor of Jupiter.

In the bottom of the third inning, Jupiter tacked on two more runs to make it 9-3. One was scored by senior Tyler Johnson, who had a base hit and then stole a base before Ryan Senecal’s RBI single brought him home.

The game’s final two runs were scored in the bottom of the fifth inning.

“We go down 2-0, it’s kind of tough. You just got punched in the face,” Jupiter head coach Andy Mook said. “And then you get one back. It was huge. And then they tack on one. And then all of a sudden, we didn’t lose focus. Really good practice offensively. And they just kept that approach. They kept doing it, and kept putting the pressure on them. We just kept grinding.”

For the Warriors, this is the program’s second straight district title. They won the Class 7A-District 10 title last season and earned the No. 1 seed in Class 7A-Region 3.

We will find out in a few hours where Jupiter will be seeded at this year. We will also see if Palm Beach Central will get an at-large state playoff berth.
