Lantana, FL.- Breaking: 2027 QB Jaxson Mariconi is headed across Hypoluxo and Lyons to return to the Santaluces Chiefs, multiple sources confirm to NewEraPrep.

Mariconi began his junior campaign as the backup to Jorris Shephard before taking over the reins in Santaluces’ week 3 contest vs Boynton Beach. Jaxson would go onto start the remainder of the season for the Chiefs, appearing in 10 games and recording 1,525 yards, 15TD’s, 0 Interceptions on 63% completion. As the starter, Jaxson would help lead Santaluces to a 6-2 record, including a berth to the FHSAA 7A Playoff, where they’d ultimately fall to Miami Columbus.

This off-season, Jaxson would briefly take his talents to Somerset Canyons where he’d record a 230 all purpose yards + 3 Touchdown performance in the Cougars’ spring game, rightfully earning NewEraPrep Spring Ball Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Now back donning the red and white of Chief-land, it’s all business from Mariconi as he eyes a storybook reunion to end his high school career:

“I’m excited man! It’s a blessing that I get to finish out my high school career with the guys that believed in me most and never gave up on me…The goals I have for this season are to be the most dominant team in Palm Beach and show everyone that it doesn’t matter who’s in front of us, we are still gonna have the same mentality of winning.”

With one of Palm Beach County’s more efficient signal-callers back under center, Santaluces regains a proven leader looking to finish what he started. The Chiefs now enter the 2026 season with renewed expectations as Mariconi returns to chase a district title and deeper playoff run.
