PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – In Palm Beach County, tonight was the long awaited rivalry week. One of the games that took place tonight was the premier private school rivalry between two long time foes.

Benjamin got off to a quick start as Jayden Vega found Amaree Williams to put the Buccaneers up front early in the 1st. Later in the quarter Georgia commit Chauncey Bowens took it over 50 yards to the house on a running back screen well placed by Vega for his 2nd passing touchdown of the night. Just as time expired in the 1st, Vega had his 3rd passing touchdown of the night by finding Adam Balogoun-Ali to end the quarter.

King’s showed some life in the 2nd quarter and looked poised to keep themselves in the game and set up a rally before halftime as Marion Victor found the endzone on a quick rushing touchdown to shrink the lead 21-7. However, Benjamin would respond as Vega would get his 4th passing touchdown of the night and Amaree Williams would gain his second receiving touchdown of the night, extending the lead 28-7. Closing out the half, Vega would get his 5th passing touchdown with under 45 seconds left with a feed to Baron Ryba to put the Bucs up 35-7.

Mid way through the 3rd quarter Benjamin sent the game to running clock as Chauncey Bowens rushed it in for a touchdown to extend the lead 42-7. King’s would show a little more life as Joe Dailey would find Javian Jones for a 22 yard touchdown to shrink the gap 42-14. However, in the dying moments of the game Benjamin would shut it down with a big man rushing TD from D’Andre LaVassaur, Benjamin would win the game 49-14.

With this win, Benjamin moves on to 8-2 and will be having a first round bye as they gear up for a rematch against Cardinal Newman in two weeks. For King’s they fall to 8-2, they will be playing next weekend against an opponent to be determined.
