FORT LAUDERDALE – Memorial Day (May 25) was the perfect day and time for Jaydon Hood to end his college recruiting process.

The St. Thomas Aquinas senior-to-be linebacker had a total of 31 offers and trimmed it down to 10 schools on May 21. It took only four days from there for the 6-foot-1, 217-pound linebacker to choose Michigan as his college destination.

Hood picked Michigan over Miami, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Minnesota, Louisville, West Virginia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and USF.

“Michigan has a great tradition and coaching staff,” Hood said. “They are linebacker U.”

Now that Hood has closed this chapter of his life, he will be concentrating on the summer months ahead and his upcoming senior year at St. Thomas Aquinas.

“It’s time to start focusing on getting ready for my season,” said Hood, a solid four-star/Under Armour All-American who is ranked as the nation’s No. 5 linebacker and No. 191 overall player by ESPN. “Unfortunately, time is running out and we don’t have the same timeline that we had before the pandemic…Time to move on.”
