VERO BEACH – A slow start turned into a great finish for Vero Beach in its kickoff classic game last night (Aug. 17) against Dwyer.

In what was a 49-0 win at home, Indians senior quarterback Tyler Aronson led the way with his overall command of the offense and his two touchdown passes – one in each half.

Aronson’s two scoring throws did not include two others that were called back in the first quarter due to penalties committed by Vero Beach’s offense.

One of the Aronson touchdown passes went to sophomore running back Jonathan Hillsman Jr., who also scored on the ground toward the end of the first half.

We have another gem at running back for Vero Beach.

Remember this name everyone: Octavian Osby.

The Palm Bay transfer bulldozed through Dwyer’s defensive line on several occasions, one of which led to a 4-yard rushing score in the second quarter.

Osby finished with two rushing touchdowns in this one.

And how can we forget about Chayce Taylor?

The unsung hero and senior wide receiver made it count in the third quarter, when he hit paydirt with Aronson’s second touchdown pass of the game.

The third quarter ended with a running clock in Vero Beach’s favor.

Not long after the final buzzer sounded, Vero Beach head coach Lenny Jankowski provided his thoughts on how the game went for his team.

Watch Jankowski’s response below.

To close this out, we were able to get post-game reactions from Aronson and senior wide receiver Isaiah Roberts, who would have scored in the first quarter if not for for a Vero Beach penalty.

Watch the duo’s responses below.

BONUS: Watch two fumble recoveries that were recovered by Vero Beach senior defensive end Matthew Bacon, who is one of the Treasure Coast’s best overall players in his class.
