Boca Raton, FL.- The second 561 Native is officially off the Draft Board.
Louisville EDGE rusher Ashton Gillotte was selected with the No. 66 pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gillotte, a 6 foot 3 Linebacker from Boca Raton, Florida is one of the premier pass rushers in this year’s class.
Ashton Gillotte brings a blend of athleticism and versatility that’ll aligns well with KC’s Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s aggressive, hybrid defensive schemes. His ability to line up in various positions—ranging from a traditional 4-3 defensive end to an interior pass rusher—provides Spagnuolo with a valuable chess piece to deploy against opposing offenses. With Ashton’s combination of speed, power, and adaptability, Gillotte is poised to make an immediate impact on Kansas City’s defense, contributing to their pursuit of sustained success in the upcoming season.
The former NewEraPrep 2021 561 Public School Defensive Player of the Year dominated during his time in Boca. Back in the day, Gillotte dominated on both sides of the ball, as both a pass rusher and tight end. One of Ashton’s most standout games throughout his time in Boca came during a 3TD performance vs Palm Beach Gardens in the final win of his career.

Ashton Gillotte would then take his talents to Louisville, where he’d record 26.5 sacks over four seasons, including a standout 11-sack performance in 2023. Although his sack numbers dipped in 2024, he led the nation in quarterback hurries and recorded 10 tackles for loss, showcasing his consistent disruptive presence on the field.
Kansas City got an incredible game wrecker, who will be a force in this League for a very long time. Congratulations to Ashton and the whole Gillotte family!
