PALM BEACH GARDENS- Tonight was a statement win for the Benjamin Buccaneers.

Coming off a narrow 27-24 defeat at Palm Beach Central, all eyes were on Benjamin (6-1) to see how they bounce back. Tonight’s matchup against Pahokee (4-4) answered those questions.

Benjamin looked like a whole different monster, dominating the game from the opening kick to the final whistle. A big factor for the Bucs’ success came from the 150+ yard and 3 touchdown performance from 4-star Georgia commit running back, Chauncey Bowens (’24).

Bowens was electric tonight, and the Blue Devils did not have an answer for him. Chauncey dominated inside the trenches, as well as catching passes out of the back field and running for extra yards. There were points tonight that the future Bulldog even lined up in the slot. The ground dominance wasn’t just limited to Bowens, as sophomore running back Phoenix Donghia also had a great game, with 50+ rushing yards and a touchdown.

After Pahokee committed to stopping the run, Benjamin took advantage, as quarterback Jayden Vega (’25) connected multiple times with 3-star Wake Forest commit receiver/linebacker Jacob Cosby-Mosley (’24) and 4-star (Georgia and Alabama offered) tight end/defensive end Amaree Williams (’25). The highlight of the passing game tonight came when Vega connected with Cosby-Mosley for a 65 yard dime halfway through the third quarter.

Tonight was a statement win to the county. Benjamin has not missed a step, and they are fired up and ready for next week’s district championship at #2 Cardinal Newman on Friday, October 20. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 P.M.
