In a crazy turn of events, four-star QB Austin Simmons has flipped his commitment from the University of Florida to Ole Miss and will reclassify to the Class of 2023.

Simmons, who has a 5.34 GPA and finished high school classes as a freshman, is rated as the No. 4 QB in the 2025 class and the No. 11 prospect from Florida. He led Pahokee to a 9-3 record last year while throwing for 24 touchdowns and 3,161 yards along with three rushing touchdowns.

Simmons is also a baseball star with the possibility to play college baseball and football at the same time. At True North this past season, Simmons had a .365 average and 16 RBI’s in 25 games. His stats on the mound were even more impressive as Simmons had a 4-1 record and a 2.76 ERA in 10 appearances.

Simply put, Lane Kiffin, one of college football’s best recruiters, pulled yet another huge fish out of the water. Meanwhile, Florida continues to deal with recruitment issues as Billy Napier has lost yet another commit. The Gators have to go back to the drawing board to find a fourth scholarship QB.

So, Simmons, who will now be draft eligible for the NFL at 19 years old, is officially heading to Oxford. His high school football career has also come to an end, despite transferring to Moore Haven for their spring game.
