Syracuse, NY.- Breaking News: 3-Star Offensive Tackle Brayden Charney (’26) has committed to Syracuse, he tells the NewEraPrep staff!
“Man, Syracuse is a great place for me to continue my football path. I am extremely excited to work with Coach Brown and Coach Williams and I cannot wait to get back up there. Bleed Orange!”

Charney- a 6 foot 6 kick stepper from Cardinal Newman holds 12 Division I FBS Offers, including South Florida, James Madison and Western Kentucky. After an ‘incredible’ Official Visit this past weekend, Brayden knew there was ‘Something in the Orange’.
“I had an amazing time on campus this weekend.” Charney stated. “It was love at first sight. My favorite parts of the visit were getting to see the beautiful campus and our facilities. Standing inside the Dome was an amazing experience to have, the legacy of that Dome is unlike any other schools, and I’m so ready to play in there. Getting to meet Coach Brown in person felt surreal to me. His experience that he carries under his belt is an important factor for my development.”
One thing sticks out to me about the ‘Cuse 2026 commits- Fran Brown and Dale Williams {OL Coach} loves their big men. Brayden Charney will be joining a loaded 2026 recruiting class that features three other high profile Offensive Line commits from across the country.
“Getting to know the other Lineman commits was a great experience. One thing I noticed on my visit is that we all share a similar “Want”. We want to be great. We want to bring glory to this program. The work ethic I’ve seen from the players as well at Syracuse is just on a different level. Coach Brown and the staff have done an excellent job cultivating this culture of excellence.”
