Breaking News: West Boca Raton’s 3-Star Linebacker/Safety Damari Jerry has COMMITTED to Liberty, he tells NewEraPrep.
Jerry, a 6 foot, 180 lb hybrid LB/S from Boynton Beach holds 25 Division I FBS Offers and chose the Flames over UCF, Louisville and UConn. When asked about what made Liberty stand out from the rest of his suitors, Damari stated:
“Liberty felt like the right fit for me. I wanted a place where I could develop as a man both on and off the field, the culture & brotherhood there was just different and I felt at home when I visited, and I could see myself thriving there…” Jerry shared. “The relationships I built with the coaching staff from the beginning, they were genuine, honest, and consistent with me. Throughout the recruiting process, they stayed in contact, answered every question, and showed me how I fit into their program. That trust and connection played a huge role in my decision.”
Damari Jerry has been a star throughout his entire high school career. During his first two seasons at Somerset Canyons, Damari was a bright spot over top the Cougar defense, shutting down the pass game while shining with violent tackles against the run. After transferring to West Boca for his junior season, Damari Jerry showcased that same juice on an even bigger stage. In 2025, Damari recorded 79 Total Tackles, 11 Tackles for Loss, 3 Sacks, 2 Forced Fumbles, 2 Fumble Recoveries, 4 PBU and 2 DEF TD, helping lead the Bulls to their second consecutive FHSAA 6A State Title.
Earlier this week, Damari was named Palm Beach County Large Schools Defensive Player of the Year by the Palm Beach Post. Jerry is also recognized as a top 10 Player in Palm Beach County via the NewEraPrep rankings committee.

When asked about what Liberty is getting from Damari Jerry, he kept his values on the forefront of his response, stating:
“Flames Nation is getting a humble player who is going to come in and be ready to learn & compete every day, work hard, and do whatever it takes to help the team win. Off the field, they’re getting a young man who values family, faith, respect, and accountability. “
