BOULDER, CO.- Prime came calling!`
Earlier this morning (January 9), Florida Atlantic University’s star wide receiver, LaJohntay Wester announced his intent to transfer to the University of Colorado. Wester made the decision pubic via his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
In FAU’s inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference, Wester exploded onto the national scene. In 2023, LaJohntay Wester recorded:
108 Receptions (2 National)
1,168 Receiving Yards (9 National)
9 Offensive Touchdowns
278 Punt Return Yards (5 National)
1 Return Touchdown
Throughout the season, Wester received numerous accolades for his performance, including: AAC Special Teams Player of the Year, 2023 FWAA All-American. LaJohntay also became FAU’s leader in career receptions and became the first Owl to record over 100 receptions in a season.
Following his breakout season, Wester officially entered the transfer portal on December 15, 2023. Shortly after declaring, numerous Power 5 schools such as Pitt, West Virginia, Auburn and Colorado offered the 5 foot 9 3-Star.
On January 7th 2024, Colorado’s star quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, tweeted that he “wants Wester in Boulder”.
