Cincinnati, OH.- Breaking News: Florida Atlantic F Tre Carroll has committed to Xavier, he tells NewEraPrep!

Carroll, a 6 foot 7 grad-transfer forward announced his commitment to the Musketeers moments ago. After entering the Transfer Portal on Monday, April 7, Tre received interest from programs across the country including: NC State, Miami, Iowa, Grand Canyon and more. Despite all the suitors, it was clear that Tre Carroll was a priority Portal add for Richard Pitino and his crew in year one.

When asked about his decision to commit to Xavier, Carroll energetically stated:

“I’m absolutely fired up for this next chapter! I’ve never been this excited to commit somewhere. Go Musketeers!”

It’s been an incredible first off-season for Richard Pitino at the helm of the Musketeers. Xavier’s been extremely active in the Transfer Portal, securing multiple high profile commits. The Musketeers loaded up on big men from the Portal, securing Carroll, alongside 6 foot 10 C Anthony Robinson from Virginia, and 7 foot PF Pape N’Diaye from UNLV. Xavier also pledged a commitment from 6 foot 3 G All Wright from Valpo State.

Let’s breakdown what Tre Carroll personally brings to the table in year one of the Xavier rebuild. Anyone that’s ever interacted with Carroll knows he has a natural unique personality thats genuinely infectious. During his time at Florida Atlantic, he was responsible for firing up the ‘Ely’ in crucial moments to help secure an Owl win. Despite not appearing on the floor during FAU’s Final 4 run, Tre has that deep March experience thats a calming presence for a young core.

Carroll is projected to enter Xavier as a combo 4-3, which is the position he’s thrived in the most. As the AAC’s Most Improved Player in 2024, the sky continues to be the limit for Tre Carroll’s development.
