Tuscaloosa, AL.- Breaking: Miami transfer G Jalil Bethea has committed to Alabama, multiple sources confirm.

Bethea chose the Crimson Tide over a possible return to Miami, or commitments to NC State and Kansas State.

During his true freshman season with the ‘Canes, Jalil Bethea, a 6 foot 5 guard made an impact coming off the bench, averaging 7.1 PPG, 2 Rebounds per game, and 1 Assist per game. Early into his Miami career, it was clear Bethea needed to develop to the collegiate level. As the season progressed, Jalil became more comfortable and confident on the court, showcasing the jaw dropping athleticism that we saw back in his high school days.

In the right system, Jalil Bethea will be a force to be reckoned with. Unluckily enough for any other SEC program, Nate Oats runs that “right system”. Following a Final 4 in 2024, and an Elite 8 berth in 2025, the Crimson Tide have secured themselves as one of the top contenders in a loaded SEC for the foreseeable future. ‘Bama loses multiple key contributors this offseason, so the addition of Bethea is a key piece to this rebuild.
