Boca Raton, Florida.- Breaking News: Florida Atlantic F Tre Carroll has entered his name into the Transfer Portal he announces via social media.
Carroll, a 6 foot 7 Forward from Port Charlotte, Florida has been the heart and soul of the FAU Owls for years. During the Owls’ consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a 2023 Final 4 berth, Tre may have been a reserve on the court, but his role was far greater.
Tre Carroll’s energetic personality and flamboyant celebrations were instrumental in firing up the Florida Atlantic faithful, especially during crucial moments. In an arena as compact as the “Ely” crowd noise goes a long way, and Carroll was the maestro of it all.
Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Tre Carroll served as the lone returner with significant minutes from the Dusty May era (sorry Jack). Carroll took the mantra of Owl Culture to heart, stepping into a leadership role of this new squad, teaching them what it truly means to become an FAU Owl.
After patiently awaiting his moment, Tre seized the opportunity, recording 12.2 PPG, 5.2 Rebounds Per Game and 1.6 Assists Per Game, on 52% true shooting. Following his breakout season, Tre Carroll received numerous weekly AAC Honors, alongside end of season selections to 2nd-Team All Conference, AAC Most Improved Player and the Amir Abdul Rahim Sportsmanship Award.
Carroll possesses a wicked spin and drive move that is un-guard-able. Tre Carroll’s high offensive potential, strong defense and veteran leadership with Tournament experience will be key traits that Power programs will eye in on during his recruitment.
Tre Carroll enters the NCAA Transfer Portal with 1 year of eligibility remaining, without an intent to return to Boca Raton. Carroll is the fifth Owl to hit the Portal this off season, joining former teammates Kaleb Glenn, Jack Johnson, Matas Vokietaitis and Leland Walker.
