Breaking News: Matthew McKenzie commits to Bethune Cookman

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL.- Breaking News: Benjamin Defensive Back Matthew McKenzie (’24) announces his commitment to Bethune Cookman University.

McKenzie announced his decision today (January 31), via his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

When asked about his decision to commit to BCU, Matthew said:

“I’m truly humbled and blessed to announce my intention to continue my academic and athletic career at Bethune Cookman University!” McKenzie stated. “Leadership is lonely. I’m not going to be afraid of confrontation to get us to where we need to go. Go Wildcats.”

During his senior season at Benjamin, McKenzie was shut down in the secondary. In 2023, Matthew McKenzie recorded:

5 interceptions

3 PBUs

2 touchdowns
