WEST PALM BEACH, FLA – It’s the start of a new era over at Keiser University, just a couple of months removed from their national championship victory, Keiser has itself named a new head coach.
Coach Russ has been at Keiser for the past six years this year he served as the Assistant Head Coach with a specialty in the running back department along with being the recruiting coordinator. This past season’s performance boasted a great success from Russ’ work in the running back room as Keiser rushed for a total of 3,169 yards and produced a program-best 47 rushing touchdowns. This true display of dominance was shown through the playoffs as the dynamic duo Andrew Burnette and Jaden Meizinger were nearly impossible to stop on the ground.
As for Doug Socha the now former Keiser Head Coach, Socha accepted the head coaching job at Lenoir-Rhyne, an NCAA Division II school in Hickory, NC.
Socha enters Lenoir-Rhyne with a stacked résumé, which includes a 55-15 coaching record over the past five seasons and an NAIA National Championship to boast. He leaves behind a legacy of being a program builder at Keiser turning them into the national powerhouse they are today. Socha put a statement on Twitter announcing his departure from Keiser.
Here at New Era Prep, we wish Coach Socha the best of luck at his new home, and we also would like to extend a big congratulations to Coach Russ on becoming the newest Keiser University Football Head Coach.
