Tayegan Briskey holds 14 Division I Offers and flipped to the Black Knights from Dartmouth. When asked about that decision, Tayegan shared:
“The main thing was the opportunity to play Division I football on the biggest platform.” Briskey stated. “At the end of the day, I want to be on tv and play the highest level of competition I can. Army is one of the best G5 teams in the nation and the defending AAC champions in only their first year in the conference.”
The Army Black Knights entered Tayegan’s recruitment recently, and immediately stood apart. After offering the 6 foot DB on May 28, Briskey took an UNOFFICIAL visit to West Point in early July. Ever since then, Tay knew West Point was home.
“I took that visit a few weeks ago and felt really strong about it. Stepping on the campus was absolutely breath taking, and it’s something I knew I wanted to be a part of. When I got back home from my visit, I continued having conversations with the coaches and influential people that have went to West Point and played football. Those talks continued to re assure me that this was home.”
As previously stated, Tayegan took an unofficial visit to West Point, and plans to schedule a gameday Official during the season.
When committing to a service academy, student athletes commit to something far greater than sports. Service to our great Country is generational in the Briskey family, with both Tayegan becoming a third generation member of the Military.
“It means a lot to me, my pops served in the Marines and my grandma the Army. I think taking this route not only allows me the opportunity to continue to play football at the highest level possible, but develop and grow as a man and continue to have a greater purpose in life.”
The Army Black Knights had an incredible introduction into the American Athletic Conference (AAC), running the table with the League and dominating defenses with their triple option offense. Following that breakout season, Army’s Commander in Chief, HC Jeff Monken, was awarded National Coach of the Year honors. When asked about the opportunity to play for such an up and coming program, Tay shared:
“The biggest thing Coach Monken and Coach Dixon (Army DB’s coach) have talked about with me is the opportunity to come in ready to make in impact as soon as possible. Doing things on both ends to prepare me physically and mentally to make in impact on the defensive side of the from the moment I step on campus and be a piece of trying to take this team to the next level of competing for a National Championship.”
The addition of Tayegan Briskey solidifies Army’s 2026 class inside the top-150 nationally, per the 24/7 composite. Briskey becomes the 51st pledge to the Black Knights.
