JUPITER – A breakout performance came at a perfect time for Jamarr Fleuridor.
In Jupiter Christian’s home finale last Friday afternoon (Oct. 9) against Bell Creek Academy, the junior athlete accounted for two touchdowns and 106 all-purpose yards. He had a punt return (45+ yards) for the score in the middle of the first quarter and a rushing score (45+ yards) in the fourth quarter of his team’s 66-0 win.
In addition to that, Fleuridor tallied one forced fumble at defensive back and play a little bit at the quarterback position (44 yards in the air).
All of this was enough for Fleuridor to be our Breakthrough Player of Week 5.
“Jamarr played multiple positions, including quarterback,” Eagles fellow junior Brian LaFrance said. “He threw a great deep pass…Overall he stepped up as a leader and did great job this game.”
Jupiter Christian head coach Baz Alfred was especially pleased with Fleuridor’s overall performance.
“We’ve been waiting for Jamarr to have that type of game from start to finish,” Alfred said. “He was around the ball making plays in all three phases of the game. He needed a spark so he can continue on this path to have a great junior season.”
Next game for Fleuridor and the Jupiter Christian Eagles (No. 4 this week; 3-1 record): Tomorrow (Oct. 15) at the St. John Paul II Eagles (2-2), 6:30 p.m. kickoff
