WELLINGTON – Palm Beach Central is relatively loaded with standout athletes on both sides of the ball this season.
One of them is Broncos junior running back Aldorson Estinvil, who made quite an impact on the outcome of last Friday night’s (Oct. 1) home game against Jupiter.
Our Breakthrough Player of Week 6 had six carries for 149 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also added one catch for 10 yards in Palm Beach Central’s 43-21 home win over Jupiter.
“I stayed disciplined and listened to my coach (Spencer) when he said, “Run to grass and when you’re in the open run to daylight,” said Estinvil, who got his first rushing touchdown off a 69-yard end zone at the 9:19 mark of the second quarter for Palm Beach Central.
For the 5-foot-8, 180-pound running back, most of his yards came from two long touchdown runs. Speaking of which, his second score was a 50-yarder to paydirt with just 36.6 seconds left in the game to help seal Palm Beach Central’s 22-point margin of victory over Jupiter.
“I again just ran to daylight when I got in the open field,” Estinvil said. “I trusted my speed that my coaches have been telling me I got. All glory to God.”
Palm Beach Central head coach Scottie Littles marveled at Estinvil’s performance in Week 6.
“Aldorson is a great kid who works hard and is extremely humble,” Littles said. “On a team with a ton of talent, he just puts his head down and goes to work. We are banged up at the running back position, but Al has come in and we have not missed a beat.”
Littles had more to say about Estinvil’s will to be the best team player he can be.
“He felt like he didn’t play as well against Boca and Royal, so he asked what he can do to improve,” Littles said. “His coaches told him and he worked at it before practice and after practice. He just plugged away, and it was great to see his work pay off with a big night against Jupiter. He just adds anther weapon to the mix we have.”
