Two years ago, Jeremiah Smith and Joshisa Trader had just cemented themselves as the best WR duo in Florida High School Football history- after winning the FHSAA 1M State Championship for the Chaminade-Madonna Lions. During this historic 56-0 rout on Clearwater Central Catholic, Jeremiah Smith caught 11 passes for 170 yards and 1 touchdown, while “JoJo” Trader hauled in another two scores, and passed for a 3rd total touchdown. After demolishing the Marauders in the State Title, Jeremiah earned his third career Championship, while Trader garnered his second.
Both Smith and Trader would go onto be named as finalists for the 2023 Nat Moore Trophy, an award that honors the best Senior Football Player in the Miami metro area, with Jeremiah bringing home the hardware. Following their legendary high school careers, Smith took to social media tweeting “I think we the best duo to ever come out of South Florida”, with Trader quickly quoting with “Facts”.

Fast forward to December 2025, Smith and Trader are awaiting their first meeting since high school on one of the biggest stages in College Football. On New Year’s Eve (December 31), Jeremiah Smith’s #2 Ohio State Buckeyes will face off against Joshisa Trader’s #10 Miami Hurricanes in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, hosted by the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX.
During this morning’s media availability with members of the Ohio State squad, I asked Jeremiah Smith about the opportunity to face off against JoJo and other familiar faces from the Crib, and he had this to say:
“It’s something me and JoJo have talked about since we were 11 years old. For us to be on this stage right now going against each other is something we dreamed of….” Smith said with a smile. “I can’t wait to see him after the game, take all the pictures with him and see his family.”
We’re just over one week away from the long awaited reunion between the two stars who forged the legacy of the “NadeBoyz” dynasty. As kickoff nears, all eyes are turned to bear witness to two of the greatest to ever do it.
