We’re bringing things back to old school!
Earlier this morning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the revitalization of their original 1976 home uniform set ahead of the team’s 50th season.

The team announced the Bucs would be donning this set of throwbacks for the first time since that inaugural season during their Week 3 home opener vs the New York Jets on September 21st. Tampa Bay officially revitalized their ‘Creamsicle’ throwback set (1976-1996) in 2023, which sparked support from across the Krewe.
A press release released by the team earlier states that the uniforms are “a tribute to the team’s inaugural uniform design and its role in shaping the franchise’s identity.”
Also in the release, Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer (COO) Brian Ford produced the following quote:
“The ’76 Jersey represents a piece of Buccaneers history and serves as a tribute to the generations of fans and players who shaped this franchise. As we launch into our 50th season, we’re proud to reintroduce The ’76 Jersey and the tradition it embodies. It is a reminder that every Buccaneers fan, from the originals to the newest generation, is part of an evolving story that started in 1976 and continues being written today.”

The attention to details on these kits are second to none. Tradition and history is scattered across the uniform. To casual football fans, it’s a cool uniform, but to the Buc’s faithful, it’s a tapestry depicting the timeline of the squad. The full detail set includes:
-The iconic orange numbers with red outlines, only worn during ’76 season
-Creamsicle 50th season patch
-Three‑stripe sleeve pattern – red, orange, and red
-Creamsicle-era helmets, paired with white pants and striped socks
–“Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay!” stitched on the inside collar, a homage to the team’s original fight song (1979)
