On a Friday night with perfect weather, Mason Mallory threw four touchdowns as West Boca defeated Northeast 58-0 on the road.

From start to finish, the Bulls had their foot on the gas pedal.

Less than two minutes into the game, Mason Mallory found wide receiver Branden Hoch in the end-zone for a touchdown, giving the Bulls an early 7-0 lead.

Three minutes later, running back Javian Mallory scored a 24-yard rushing touchdown to extend the Bulls’ lead to 14-0.

On the ensuing kickoff, Aaron Ford recorded a safety for the bulls as Northeast was tackled in the end-zone. That made it 16-0.

Mason Mallory threw his second touchdown of the night to wide receiver Kyle Andrews to extend West Boca’s lead to 23-0. Andrews has been out with a hamstring injury; it was his first score since September 1st against Lake Worth.

On the next drive, the West Boca defense took matters into their own hands. Cornerback Jaydin Broadnax, who has an offer from FAU, scored a fumble recovery touchdown to extend what was already a large lead, making it 30-0. Defensive lineman Xavier Reid punched the ball out, forcing the fumble.

The first quarter was still not over, meaning West Boca kept putting points on the board.

Ford recorded a pick-six for the Bulls to make it 37-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Javian Mallory took a screen pass 65 yards to the house. The Northeast defense had no answer for any formation out of the West Boca playbook.

Zacharius Walls scored a receiving touchdown to end the first half with West Boca in front by a mile, 51-0. Mason Mallory had four touchdowns in the first half.

In the second half, West Boca only managed to score one touchdown, courtesy of a Jacorrion Mccrary receiving touchdown on a beautiful pass from backup quarterback Trey Moran. With the running clock and all of the backups in, the second half flew by. The final score was 58-0.

It was a light but efficient night for Mason Mallory, who completed 9-of-10 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns. The sophomore has offers from FAU, USF, and Indiana, among others.

“All week during practice, we knew this type of team we were going to play, so we really just wanted to work on stuff we would use against Ely next week,” Mason said. “We just wanted to make sure we came out and executed with little to no minor mistakes. We did that and it showed on the scoreboard.”

Northeast was arguably the easiest team West Boca has faced all season. Sitting at 1-7, the Hurricanes are one of the most struggling teams in Broward.

“You still have to prepare the same way,” Mason said when talking about facing a weak Northeast defense. “In game you still have to take the reps seriously. I wasn’t getting a lot of pressure so I really focused on going through my reads and my route concepts. It helps me get prepared for the bigger games we have down the line this season and in the playoffs.”

Mason’s cousin, Javian Mallory, has scored a touchdown every game this season. The four-star running back, who has offers from FSU, Georgia, and Ohio State, among others, had 150 total yards and two touchdowns. Javian now has 19 touchdowns on the season.

West Boca kicker John Farfan got the job done. When you score 58 points, you must be kicking a lot of extra points. Farfan went 8-for-8 on his extra point attempts.

West Boca is set to face a top Broward team, Blanche Ely, next Thursday night in what is likely a do-or-die game. A win would put West Boca in the playoffs for the first time since 2012. A loss might end the Bulls’ playoff hopes.

“If we play our game, we are virtually unbeatable,” Mason said. “We just need to stay composed. There’s going to be a lot of ups and downs in that game because Ely is a very good, very well-coached, and a very athletic team. If we just stay composed, no matter what happens, we’ll be perfectly fine.”

The Bulls need 40 more points this season to break the school record for most points in a single season (370 in 2006). There are two games left so the high-flying Bulls offense will likely get past that mark.

West Boca is now 6-2 on the season. Can the Bulls get to 8-2?
