Bulls Blowout in Boca! USF beats Syracuse 45-0

BOCA RATON- Well this was a very one sided affair.

Tonight (December 21), Syracuse University and the University of South Florida traveled to Florida Atlantic University to face off in the 2023 Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl.

Shortly into the game, many realized that this was all Bulls. USF struck first, as Quarterback, Byrum Brown, found Sean Atkins for a 16 yard touchdown strike. The Bulls didn’t stop there, as USF’s special teams unit recovered a botched snap on a field goal attempt, returning it to the crib in glorious fashion.

Brown continued to dominate the ‘Cuse defense through the air, recording his second touchdown pass on a 31 yard dot to Khfare Brown. K. Brown was hit perfectly in stride as he walks into the endzone untouched.

Bryrum Brown showed why he’s one of the NCAA’s most dominant players, recording and touchdowns on the night. In the passing game, Brown had all the time in the world and picked apart the Orange defense. The USF gunslinger also confused the Syracuse defense on the ground, pulling multiple read options for large gains. During tonight’s game, Byrum Brown became the second player in USF history with 4,000 total yards in a season.

The first quarter scoop and score wasn’t the first time the USF defense reached the promised land, as the Bulls were able to pop a red zone fumble, running it 80 yards to the house.

USF’s four first half touchdowns, alongside a 40 yard field goal brought the score to a whopping 31-0 at halftime.

South Florida didn’t give up any momentum after the half, scoring another deep passing touchdown to Atkins, and a 2 yard rushing touchdown from Nay’Quan Wright. After that long touchdown grab, Sean Atkins became the first player in USF Football history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season.

The University of South Florida won their first bowl game since 2017 in dominant fashion, with a final of 45-0. As the final whistle blew, the Bulls faithful stormed the field and celebrated with their team.
