BYU will be showing up to Orlando following another double-digit win season. The Cougars just missed making their very first College Football Playoff appearance, most recently dropping in the Big 12 Championship game to Texas Tech, 34-7. Despite the setback to the program’s goal, the Cougars still managed to impress yet again this year, finishing 11-2 going into bowl season with both losses coming to #4 ranked Red Raiders.

On the other sideline, Georgia Tech is also coming off an impressive season, where the Yellow Jackets are looking to reach double digit wins for the first time under Head Coach Brent Key, after finishing 9-3 and reaching their best record since the 2014 season. Since fully taking over the program in 2023, Key has slowly but surely turned the Jackets into one of the most consistent and scary teams to face in the ACC, recently earning himself a 5-year contract extension from the school.

Both teams enter the fan-favorite matchup with something to prove. BYU, looking to make a statement after feeling they deserved a shot in the 12-team playoff, while Georgia Tech looks to cap off their best season in over a decade.
The game will kick off at 3:30 PM EST on ABC, and once the final whistle blows in Orlando, one of the two teams won’t only be taking home a trophy, but also a chance at earning the honor of eating the edible Pop-Tart mascot, a scene that has quickly taken over the College Football world as one of the best traditions for the fans.
