Florida Atlantic Football and head coach Zach Kittley were hot on the recruiting trail on Tuesday, welcoming two more players to paradise as well as Kittley’s signature Air-Raid offense for the Owls’ 2027 class.
QB Brody Bartee and WR Aubrey Johnson, both Texas natives, announced their commitment to Florida Atlantic via their pages on Twitter/X and Instagram.

Brody Bartee is a 6-foot-2, 185 lb QB out of Fort Bend Ridge Point High School. He had a tremendous junior season, leading his team to an 11-1 record while throwing for 2,145 yards with 27 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. The Missouri City native showed his ability to have very promising pocket presence while not being afraid to throw the deep ball. He also showed a very good ability to make quick, darting reads and to know when he needs to escape and make a quick play on the run. For a mostly air-raid offense like FAU’s, Bartee should fit right into Zach Kittley’s system as the young QB will also look to work with the occasional RPO here and there.

With current FAU QB Caden Veltkamp set to graduate after the 2026 season, the battle at QB will be very interesting with the now committed Bartee in the mix.

Aubrey Johnson is a 3-star receiver who hails from the Space City known as Houston, Texas. He dominated in his junior season at North Shore Senior High while leading his team to a 6A D1 State Championship. The 6-foot-2, 180 lb wideout hauled in 6 touchdowns with over 800 receiving yards this past season, showcasing a skillset that should fit like a glove in Zach Kittley’s air-raid offense. With Johnson, we can look forward to a guy with finesse that knows how to create separation and play up the middle. Most importantly, the Houston native has a very impressive catch radius while being able to blow the top off a defense when he wants to.

The quick and reliable Johnson will have a great opportunity to compete in a Zach Kittley-led WR room in 2027 and try and look to translate his talents from Houston all the way to Boca Raton.
Overall, two very promising additions for the Owls as head coach Zach Kittley was able to completely tap into his Texas pipeline as he begins to load up FAU’s 2027 recruiting class. Bartee and Johnson will join RB Tommy Scott as the second and third commits to Boca Raton for what will be a crucial recruiting class coming up for FAU.
