Friday’s home playoff game between the high school football team of Cardinal Newman (West Palm Beach, FL) and Community School of Naples (Naples, FL) ended in a 42-0 victory.
Due to an outstanding demonstration of dedication and an overall excellent defense, Cardinal Newman is able to eliminate the Community School of Naples from the regional semifinals by a score of 42-0. This occurs after the Cardinal Newman team had a challenging first quarter.
After Cardinal Newman’s shaky start, the Crusaders were able to quickly convert this encounter into a crushing win. Cardinal Newman went up 6-0 after Number 6 Zamarii Sanders scored his first touchdown of the game. Star Jack Beylo then hit an excellent kick to make the score 7-0.
Both Jaylin “jbo” Brown and Zamarii Sanders scored two touchdowns for this night’s matchup. The score increased to 28-0 when quarterback Jyron Hughley ran 59 yards to score another touchdown on the first play of the second half.
Cardinal Newman managed to stay strong and composed for the remainder of the evening, resulting in a 42-0 victory. The Crusaders will advance to the next round against First Baptist Academy (Naples, Fl) for a neutral playoff game, while the Naples Seahawks’ season will end.
