Facing Trinity Christian Academy, the Patriots rolled past the Conquerors by a score of 63-21. Carrollwood Day showcased a dominant run game, big-time plays in the passing game, and a very stout defense. From the opening whistle, the Patriots showed why they are one of the best teams in Florida.

Carrollwood Day moves to 7-0 on the season, while Trinity Christian falls to 3-4.

Kameron Battle Enters the Zone

Against a talented Trinity Christian defense, standout 2028 running back Kameron Battle had one of his best games of the season.

Playing only the first half for the Patriots, Battle amassed four touchdowns to create a lead that would never be threatened by their opponent. The running back got rolling early, ripping off a massive run where he shook off multiple defenders and displayed impressive burst. He followed up that run with a touchdown, making a quick cut to find a lane and race into the end zone.

Battle followed that up with three touchdowns of 40 yards or more, displaying impressive speed and burst on all of them. The running back’s best touchdown of the night was his second one; using his vision to find the right lane, Battle shook a defender with a juke move and flew into the end zone untouched.

Whether as a runner or a pass catcher, Battle showed a very high-level skill set against Trinity Christian. He not only displayed elite speed, but paired it with great contact balance, vision, and elusiveness. Battle is one of the better running backs in the 2028 class for a reason, and over the rest of the 2026 season, it is going to be a very difficult task for defenses to slow him down.

Derrell Hines Jr. Shows Out

Outside of Battle, Carrollwood Day wide receiver Derrell Hines Jr. was one of the more key players in the team’s Friday night victory.

On special teams, Hines Jr. returned a kickoff for a touchdown, displaying impressive speed, vision, and elusiveness. It was a pivotal touchdown for the Patriots, as it put them back up three scores and took away any momentum that Trinity Christian was building.

As a wideout, Hines Jr. was just as impressive. He had multiple catches over the middle of the field, showcasing that he can utilize his speed and quickness as a route runner. One of those catches was a touchdown, as he secured the pass against zone coverage before running into the end zone. Hines Jr. also showed off contested catch ability; on a play late in the first half, the standout player for the Patriots held onto a deep pass after taking a big hit from a defensive back.

It was a very efficient day for the wideout, but it was also a very impressive one. Hines Jr. produced whenever Carrollwood Day needed a big play, and he will continue to be a key cog in the Patriots’ 2026 success.

The Carrollwood Day Defense Shines

For the vast majority of Friday night’s game, the Carrollwood Day defense shone at every level of the unit.

In the trenches, Jamie Demontagnac was everywhere. He had multiple great tackles, got after the quarterback, and blew up multiple blocks. De’Voun Kendrick and Zylen Little were great as well, as both players stuffed runs and caused havoc in the backfield. Little, on a run play in the 2nd quarter, had a fantastic forced fumble where he ripped the ball out of the running back’s hands.

At linebacker, Rashaun Fitts Jr. was extremely impressive. Making multiple tackles throughout the game, the 2028 prospect displayed great physicality and instincts at the position. He made multiple plays coming downhill, showed the ability to shed blocks, and tackled ball carriers in space. Standout 2029 cornerback James Allen had multiple pass breakups, while Alfonso Brown made key tackles and had a pass breakup of his own.

On defense, Carrollwood Day showed that it can play as a high-level unit for four full quarters. They have the talent to not only compete against some of the best offenses in the state, but shut them down as well. As the 2026 season continues to progress, the Patriots’ defense is a unit that will help it win plenty more games.
